About Mich Turner MBE

Mich has had a passion for food, especially baking from a young age. She won her first cookery competition at the age of 15, was asked to decorate her A level teacher's wedding cake when she was just 17 and qualified as a Food Scientist in 1992. She founded Little Venice Cake Company in 1999 after working as a Bakery and Patisserie Buyer at Harvey Nichols.

She is an industry specialist, pioneer, trailblazer, entrepreneur, author and consultant. "For me, it is about ensuring I provide the best possible customer experience, combining authenticity, prestige and heritage with excellence and professionalism. I adopt a 360 degree holistic approach to all my roles. I explore all the elements to deliver a unique concept and immersive experience to showcase the very best skills and empower the talent of the partners I work alongside."

Mich Turner qualified as a food scientist and worked as a Bakery and Patisserie Buyer at Harvey Nichols before founding Little Venice Cake Company in 1999.  With a passion for creating amazing cakes combining an understated elegance with intricate hand craftsmanship and totally indulgent recipes she quickly established Little Venice Cake Company as the leading cake company in London offering a complete, professional service.

She was announced as Harpers Bazaar and Chanel Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006, granted Freedom of the City in 2018 and awarded an MBE for her services to the industry in 2010.

Consultancy

Mich has a unique understanding within the baking industry.  Sponsored at University by United Biscuits she understands all levels of manufacture. From her time as a Bakery and Patisserie Buyer at Harvey Nichols she understands retail and from working within the events industry understands food service and guest experience.

Mich applies her extensive experience, creativity and skill to maximum effect. Recent roles include the launch of a new Hand-Crafted Collection in Scotland with the lead product being awarded Scottish Retail Food and Drink WINNER and a signature collection of cakes for an exclusive London hotel.
